MyBorovets.com uses Hunters because all their equipment is brand new... I wouldn't trust some of the dubious looking ski shops around the resort :)

Look at these Skis a shop in a certain 4* hotel tried to rent to one of our party. These were the best condition Skis they had available  . Needless to say we made him return them and we went elsewhere. This was through a major TCO as well.

Were they Orion ski's by any chance?

I didn't have lessons in Borovets but while I was there I heard about and saw some appauling behaviour towards children from instructors including children being left behind and making there own way down. However I was also told about some brilliant instructors including the instructor my friends had.

Talking of one extreme to another, I went to Whistler at Christmas and then Borovets in the February... That may have had a slight influence on my opinion of Borovets.

The two years prior to Borovets I spent in Poiana Brasov in Romania, (my taste for cost saving is limitless!) again I thought it a lovely little resort, but very limited skiing. we again were lucky with the snow but the weeks prior to departure were nail biting.

If Poiana had a better snow record it should be considered by anyone wanting to learn to ski, picturesque, clean, value for money, very good tuition.
