I thought the Ski Sunday tribute to David Vine, who died last week, was very well done.

The trains may be slow, but they are frequent, reliable and efficient.
And there were no queues - which saved an awful lot of time for ski-ing on deserted mountains! I very much regret having waited so long to go to Grindelwald - and will definitely return. |

Oh yes... the Swiss Patrouille jet display team training and then displaying on Friday was a real bonus - viewing them from Eigerglestcher was superb!

Well, it was magnificent - and the best day of all was the Schilthorn and the bowls above Murren. Went with a guide, set off earlyish and it didn't take too long to get there or get back.
Mostly ski-ing on deserted runs last week all over the Jungfrau region - fantastic. Even with the influx for the Lauberhorn races, the runs and lifts were quiet - no queues at all! |

Just to add a little, if you fly with Swiss Inrternational, they take your skis or board for free! Certainly makes their flights more than competitive with the likes of Easy and Ryan!

Thanks - intend to have a really good time (but today's report from Grindelwald was a little worrying with a lot of snow blown off the slopes at Kleine Scheidegg - lots of brown grass on show, apparently.)

Well, I would spend the weeks in my new chalet in a Swiss resort somewhere (and commute at the weekends (business class!) to watch my rugby team - such an easy life!)'

Was idly flicking through the 1989 edition of The Good Ski Guide last night - and came across a map of Arosa/Lenzerheide which also showed some lifts in a resort called Tschiertschen.
Wondered if any of you Swiss experts knew anything about the place - and whether it's worth making the excursion when next in Arosa. Thank you. |
