Not quite, this is uplift.
But the Borovets sleigh from the woods at the end of the ski day, was a ride of colour and character.

A 30 min gondola from Brides would do my head in daily.

It did that for me. Worse, the Gondola support pole drops though a hole in the roof, along with avalanches of snow!

Oh, and it is a rare event to be able to ski down to Brides, hence you have to be back at the lift before 4.00pm for the lift down.

The hire shop is at the bottom of the Brides Gondola. It is a skiset centre.

Once you are through this stage, go test, then test some better quality skis. If you can feel the difference it's time to buy.

Boots: Go to a fitter, replacement feet are in short supply. However, losing Toenails is easy.

Dead right about the skis, (although, not what I did....bought Elan Jets from Ellis Brigham for £3.00, and I have never let him forget it!) A novice skier will benefit greatly from skiing on very short skis, but as soon as the capability develops, they will not meet your needs.

I do not have a problem with hiring boots for what might be the start of a ski destiny. However, at the point that you realise that skiing is for you, buy your own boots. Don't try and buy cheap, because sore/injured feet are very expensive!

Need a but more information for good recommendations, when are you planning on going, do you want loads of apres ski. Do you want a big area to explore, want off piste, how long a transfer you prepared to have, etc etc
The more info you give the more chance someone giving you a great recommendation. For me it also affected by where I live and the rubbish number of flights to decent destinations from my local airport for example

Spot on, John. In contrast, I live 30 min fron Edinburgh Airport, and can access many good alpine locations.
Ski/board capability is an influence. People in their first 3 years of action will not receive the full benefit of a big resort. You can start by giving the location of your most convenient airport.
How long do you want to stay, and are you prepared to DIY or do you wish to stick with a Tour Operator?
Hintertux - When to Go? Oct / Nov

GC, go at the busiest ~ never a better time to meet some top international skiers & boarders. My No 1 auslander fast lady ski buddy was in the Tux last November, and met a wheen of top skiers.

"Of course, I knew most of them", she condecendingly explained. (She works for the Olympic games committee)

Boarders have an advantage over skiers, if the piste is a trite crowded, boarders can jump off the side and ride in junk snow.
Ah, man, true skiing. Cairngorm has some stunning areas when accessed like this.
