Gloves ...... Important part of clothing, the quality of gloves around the £30-£40 mark will be pretty good and if you feel the cold the addition of silk liners will keep you even warmer.
Like Tony I also took advantage of the Surfanic sale last year but got a slightly better deal on the leather gloves £21 inc postage ( Sorry Tony) wore them for the first time this year and thought they were really good.
I also have a couple of jackets of excellent quality brought for £46 again last year.
I started looking into Surfanic about four years when I brought some ski tops for Little W at the London Ski show . I think the end of Feb they start the proper sales.

Wanderer wrote:Had a quick look at a few videos on Youtube. It looks like a right tester alright. As always conditions are everything. Would not fancy it in icy conditions :x

Did not do the Tunnel in ADH. It looks somewhat similar :x

Has anybody done the Black under the gondola in Westendorf. It is not that long and they do groom it but, boy, is it steep  . I think they claim a gradiant of 80 degrees(?) - not sure if this is correct or makes any sense.

Ironically, I would nearly prefer moguls than a sheer slope  If you do fall on a sheer slope, there is absolutely nothing to stop you until you get to the bottom

I'm the opposite stuff the moguls the knees can't cope with them anymore,
don't mind steep ... don't mind Icy

I have mainly skied in the big French resorts. I would say the MW runs are graded about one full grade higher than France. So a red in the MW would be a blue in say VDI/Tignes/LA etc.
There aren't many real black runs.
For me, this was great news and I loved the runs. The slopes are very well looked after each night.
I loves the MW
Have a great time

This is pretty standard in Italy and most of the resorts I have skied in Italy,
But never the less it is one of my favorite places to ski and I will be back soon

OldAndy wrote:In my experience in France vouchers are used by employers to allow their staff to have lunch somewhere close to wherever they are working.

For example imagine how long it would take for a liftie on a remote chair to get back down to the resort to a canteen for their lunch?
Makes far more sense to have an arrangement where they eat close to "work" - pay by vouchers and the restaurant then bills the employer.

This used to happen in Les Arcs; staff could choose from a number of restaurant deals to go to for lunch and pay by voucher.

Sounds a sensible idea

andymol2 wrote:Not only do you get ripped off in France for drinks, they also seem to have dual pricing with "locals" paying less than Joe Public. La Plagne seemed to have some sort of voucher scheme for locals so they can rip off the visitors without upsetting the regulars.

Skied France alot never experienced duel pricing but I am not surprised that it goes on , that is if the staff are smart enough to run the scam.
I don't know about you but would be out that place straight away !!!!
