I watched it! I've been thinking seriously about relocation (as I'm sure you are aware), and can say confidently now that I won't be considering the wilderness of BC! :lol:

My brother is half way there...I'd go but it would have to be somewhere where I wouldn't have to be self sufficient. Whistler would do! :lol:

Spoke to someone (a 'carpenter') on the plane on the way back from Calgary in January, his wife is a psychiatric nurse, and they moved out a few years ago. He said their standard of life has increased greatly partly due to the fact his wife now earns 3 times as much for the same job as she did in the UK (but working less hours in Canada). Nothing but good things to say - the government are giving us fewer and fewer reasons to stay in the UK. The new 50% tax bracket will drive most of the big earners away and tax revenues will take a hit.

A move to Canada is currently high on the agenda for me... my only problem is finding a job I can do without the need to retrain for 4 years!
