Just about to ring and pay for our holiday for the 5 of us. Its not just the holiday though its some thermals for the kids and gloves, goggles and having lessons every 2 weeks at Kendal for the kids (get them cheap though).
Feeling ill already
Add my new skis which i will be getting some time soon, glasses and goggles from the snow show, G/friend going nuts and buying anything which had a logo on it and its really a tidy sum we shelled out.
Add Selva in March and well, its a very lot of money :(

Davidsa2,
That's a totally unbelievably cheap ski holiday! Well done for finding it.
I am just about to book skis and boots and lessons for us in Courchevel. They are terribly expensive.
6 days of lessons, 4 hours per day, costs 280 euros. 'Blue' skis and boots cost 70 euros after 25% discount with Intersport, 'Black' skis and boots cost 132 euros after 25 % discount. Lift passes cost 190 euros for Courchevel and 232 euros for 3 valleys.

Week in Alpe D'Huez all in - catered chalet, lift pass, flights (inc ski carriage) and transfers - £555
It's the cost of lunch and beer that scares me!

And was I in for a shock this year I shall be spending £4600 on two ski holidays nearly £3k of that is driving to LGb next January and £1.6k on Livigno in March, I'm seriously thinking about not driving in 2011, I'll possible save a grand !!!!!!!!
That does sound expensive Ian. Have you ever considered cheap flight options. Ryanair in particular do some really cheap flights to ski destinations. They seem to be quite customer orientated too. Worth a try.

Ian,
I forgot to say 'Happy Birthday' to little W.
I am trying to negotiate a discount price with ESF 1550 for our lessons. I want to have a go through the slalom gates in the morning in English, and then do touring ski-ing in French, for the same price the French pay for all day ski-ing.
And my daughter wants to do off piste in the early morning, followed by ski touring, for the same price as full morning ski-ing.
I will wait and see what they say. And I will have to try and hire some skis that can do slalom and ski touring.

Ally I admire your efforts to widen your skiing perspectives by trying different disciplines. Ski tourers, are usually skiers with solid technique, and a good grasp of alpinism, spending their time almost entirely away from resorts and their infrastructure. Here's an outing that ise went on a while ago...

Will you be trying out this or, cross country skiing, which the French call Ski de fond?
If you want to ski slalom gates, also include a rental helmet with chinguard in your request. The proper gates are springloaded.

Dont get him started.
OK:
Trip 1 in Jan, Alpe d'Huez. Flights, transfers, catered chalet, lift pass: £520pp (Yes, I said lift pass included, notmally costs 200 euros)
Trip 2 in March, Serre Chevalier. Flights, transfers, ski carriage, catered chalet: £510pp. Lift passes £175pp extra.
I am paying twice for me and Mrs H obviously. I have not factored in lunches or drinks to either, or any new equipment, as I will be buying new skis shortly, another £300 or so.
