I was going to do the Holiski thing but it appears that The 3 V's are not participating this year!
So lift pass is almost as much as travel and accomodation costs!

This is going to be expensive.
Two weeks Finland, one in Ruka one in Yllas, log cabins £1500 inc flights.
£400 snowmobiling,huskies,ice karting,reindeer sleigh.
£200 car hire.
Lift passes.........not sure as buy by the day as and when, as x country tracks free. Using trial ski's means lift pass free for the day. But budget on about £300 for 2 weeks.
Total £2,400. for 2 people. Sounds hideous when you work it out like that.

Not really, £600 a week each isn't that bad.

I'm still working on it Tony!
I have had a couple of lucky breaks. One was the intro of the easyjet flight to Munich. The second was the split between BA and Natwest, who then created "your points". You can use them on various airlines, including easyjet, and use them to cover charges and taxes.
OK, there are reasons that I go back to Niederau, it is my second home, and I have more friends there than in our local village. In turn I have become part of their lives, and I get invited to the kids birthday parties, and nights out with the locals. However, thinking about people that like to go back to a favourite resort, say Ian and LgB, or anywherelse:
How can you work on the airmiles side of things, so as to get you to a nearby airport.
Determine the lowest transfer cost.
Get to know the village, and choose a B&B on the edge of town, close to a lift. I have stayed in dozens of houses, all within 70m of Tennladen lift, (and the Bichlwirt!)
Find out what the season pass cost is. Discount for over 60s. (Except for Ski Welt ~ over 80s!!)
Negotiate to leave a pair of skis in the B&B celler.
This would work for me in many resorts with access from Munich. It must work from other airports too
