I Can speak from first hand experience on this topic...
Having snapped my ACL in January on day 4 of a 12 day hoilday I wish I had known about Kneebindings before!
I was skiing on XWings on an unpisted red, not moving too quickly started a left turn and at the moment of weight transfer caught an edge. I heard a crack In my right knee and felt my knee joint pop out and back in....oh then out again! Ouch!!
Blood wagon, helicopter, doctors, insurance company's ete etc.
Prof David Barrett has now reconstructed my ACL and did a bit of house work to my knee whilst he was poking about. I am now going to physio 5 days a week and can start driving from 7th April!
I am hoping to return to work around the end of April...Yahoo
I am going to miss my season of water skiing, trekking and my planed trips up Mont Blanc and Ben Nevis.
I return to skiing in January 2011 and will skiing on kneebindings and suggest to those of you that own your skis to fit a pair too...
Good luck everybody
Huard.

Huard,
That is a horrible story
It must have been really frightening and painful at the time
I hope it all turns out okay for you and you are ski-ing again next year :D

Thanks Ally,
I was already on Volterol so that helped! Oddly enough the ride in the blood wagon was a blast and straight down with no turns!
Cant wait to get back on the slopes :D
