Old Andy - where are you? Did you have a good time?
Have been looking out for your report - but not a dickie bird from you....
Speak............
Well .......
Firstly my apologies, I intended to write something and also a general thank you to everyone but when I started the words wouldn't flow.
I have been grieving the end of the ski season! This year feels like a "season" to me - a great hol early on and another right at the end with a huge amount of fun in between, thanks to the forum.
For the first time in many years a couple of weeks skiing just wasn't enough
And I'm finding that tough!
But - back to
Tignes.
A wonderful time was had - snow; typical spring, ranging from solid ice to knee deep slush as you would expect. With powder, blizzards, white outs, rain, blazing sunshine all mixed in! +8C to -11C at 3200m was noted over the week.
The snow up really high was lovely but visibility meant that we had to pick and choose our time up there.
The best part was that my sister can still ski - she has had some serious surgery on her back since she last skied and so was a little nervous.
The funniest part was my niece - 24yo, seriously fit (rows for her University), who could not understand why the two old codgers didn't get as tired as she was!
I took pity on her later in the week
She said "wow - that's so easy!"
Just about letting the hill take down the speed at the end of the turn (ie: finish the turn) rather than braking and using muscles so much.
He He He
Thanks for your comments and here's to the next time on skis.
