If it was me, I'd need my French grammar and dictionary, and about a hundredweight of my particular muesli brand.
We found an English shop somewhere, possibly Bourg St Maurice, selling all the things demanded by expats, but they were very expensive.
Maybe a French cookery book, written in English?
We never seem able to find any cheddar cheese for our sauces, but we generally make do with whatever alternative hard cheese they have available.

Supermarket brand aspirin, ibruprofen and cold relief.
Beans, soup, and any other tinned items you can take.
Definitely mugs for tea.
Sugar.
Chewing gum.
Mars bars, twixs, cadburys chocolate.
Wiper blades for your car to change when they get knackered, which they will.
Candles and matches.
Cheap fleecey blankets from Primark.
Crisps, and lots of them.
Pot noodles for an energy snack.
Hair products, shampoo, soap, toothpaste.
Boxes of cereal - corn flakes etc.
Biscuits.
Other than that, I am struggling to think of much else.

If you are skiing most days, then being able to give your skis a basic sharpen and wax will save a lot of money, unless free tuning is part of your package.
because I'm so inclined .....
