I will continue to choose not to, and would appreciate not having it rammed down my throat about why I should thanks.

I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!

Without doubt, ski helmets are the latest fashion icon on the slopes! Ive just returned from a trip to austria and id say 80% of people were wearing helmets. Seeing kids skiing without helmets is a thing of the past; got myself one and I have to say they are much comfier than I ever imagined. They keep your head much warmer :) yet have good ventilation, and I skiing without a helmet will soon be illegal - you couldnt get on a motorbike and travel at 40km/hr without one, but then again i skied for years without a helmet and Im still alive to tell the tale

No, what you mean is that because more people are wearng helmets, the designers have made them more fashionable.
I doubt you'd see anyone wear a ski helmet to pop into town in back here in the UK.
But they have become more fashion conscious for sure.
Doesnt make me want to get one though.

Just back from Big White, Canada today.
The helmet ratio was about 90%.
The heroes abound still without their helmets, but majority young and old all wearing
helmets.
On March 6, a 27 year old snowboarder hit a tree and died.
It was reported in the TV news as such and they added,he was not wearing a helmet.
I wore my helmet everyday and soon you forget you are wearing it anyway.

And in Serre Che last week it was less than 40% wearing helmets. Strange how it varies so much, and that people who do wear helmets STILL look down on those who dont.

I'd never look down on anyone without a helmet. I vary rarely, if ever, look down on anyone.

Out of 18 adults, none of whom wore a helmet last year, I'll be interested to see how many decide to wear one this year. Three of us have bought one so far. There'll be no pressure from me though.

I don't get why anyone who wears a helmet would look down on someone who doesn't. I mean, whether or not someone else wears a helmet doesn't affect your own safety, unless of course they forget they're wearing it and stand too close and turn round quickly and klonk you with it
