St Gallenkirch - Ski Resort in Montafon, Austrian Alps - 100km of Piste (900m to 2300m)

A traditional village, promoted jointly with neighbouring Gortipohl, both having an ultra modern ski centre above, linked to Gaschurn on the Silvretta Nova pass, where one of the first six person bubble chairs was installed for the '95-'96 season. Trails up to 14km long. Ski School programme includes Big Foot, Carving, Ski Guide and Ski Safari. The 6km (4 mile) long toboggan run is floodlit on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday Nights.

The Austrian ski resort of St Gallenkirch is part of the Montafon ski area with access to 44 individual pistes. In addition to the skiing in St Gallenkirch itself (100km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Montafon ski resort of Gargellen.

With skiing above 2000 metres, snow cover is generally reliable.

Snowmaking :- St Gallenkirch is able to augment natural snow, on 56km of ski runs, with 50 Snow Cannons.

Ski Lift Capacity :- The 28 Ski Lifts of St Gallenkirch are able to uplift 40,000 skiers / snowboarders per hour.

There are five Airports within two hours drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to St Gallenkirch are perfectly feasible. Friedrichshafen Airport and St. Gallen-Altenrhein Airport are just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.
