A pretty, traditional village with a moderate ski area that plays host to World Cup races. The ski slopes provide beautiful views over Altenmarkt and neighbouring Radstadt and the surrounding mountains. The ski area is especially suited to families and novices as it boasts easy pistes and nursery slopes at the base stations. The new Königslehen 8-person cable-car in Radstadt takes you quickly and safely to the top of the mountain.

Altenmarkt

The Austrian ski resort of Altenmarkt is part of the Altenmarkt-Zauchensee Ski Area with access to 35 individual pistes. In addition to the skiing in Altenmarkt itself (20 pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Altenmarkt-Zauchensee ski resort of Zauchensee.

Snowmaking :- Altenmarkt is able to augment natural snow, with 15 Snow Cannons.

Ski Lift Capacity :- The 9 Ski Lifts of Altenmarkt are able to uplift 12,000 skiers / snowboarders per hour.

There are five airports within two hours drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to Altenmarkt are perfectly feasible. Salzburg Airport is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.
