I wear Merrell walking shoes, they're perfect.
Warm, grippy, comfortable and stylish.
Might not be ideal for ladies though.

I've been really pleased with these Keen shoes for winter use. I like a slip on shoe for quick changing into/out of ski boots.

because I'm so inclined .....

Eh?? What's wrong with Merrells? Us ladies should all be tottering around in high heels of an evening I suppose...

I used to wear my walking boots - which were fine. Eventually, I got fed up with having to tie & untie wet laces with cold hands so bought a pair of Crocs Crocband Winter Boots:-

They are extremely light and slip on/off easily, which as Trencher says allow you to change into/out of ski boots quickly. However, not ideal if it's a man's boot you're after! My OH bought winter boots from Decathlon, as they have quite a range to choose from.
The plan is.... there's no plan!

If you want to end up in casualty, feel free
Or if you're in st Moritz or cortina you might fit in nicely.
