Sorry but I wouldnt recommend Passo Tonale as if you are a half competant skier you will ski it out in max two days as its only 70kms
have to disagree with you Iainm. Without doubt the La Thuile sector is far far better than La Rosiere even with the needed extension. Terrain is more varied, pistes are kept in far better condition and the staff are friendly...unlike the miserable B,s in L ros. Oh and the prices are about half. :)
I do hope they have finished by Saturday when our group decents upon them poor folk :)
Just wear one, a really bright one.....apparently its meant to be the cool thing to do. Seriously though any equipment that reduces the chance of injury must be a good thing. I think that it is interesting that virtually all parents insist their children wear a helmet but often don't themselves sighting "I do not need one as I am experienced". So is Linsey Vonn and she wears one. No more from me :)

"don't try to suggest that the original group has split up because it hasn't!"
I never said nor implied that. Please read my post carefully as "the breakaway group" as you called it just decided to do things a little differant than the original crew. We too, had in excess of 22 last year and a jolly good time was had by all and I expect all who go "group sking" in whatever form will also have a great time. It is not a competition. As Wanderer so aptly put it "Lets just say that there are now (at least) 2 J2Ski group trips and not fuss about which is the original or the best. Any group that gets together to enjoy a ski trip is a good thing and should not form the basis for any dissent "

Oh....and welcome back Tony :)
