Agree with Old Andy - Hestra Gloves, was recommended them after trying different North Face and other brabded ones. Had no issue since.

Was also recommended to buy mits if I suffered with cold hads and use an extra glove liner if necessary, aparantly having the fingers together keeps the warmth better.

Ellis brigham do them I know as I have seen them in there, not sure on the cost think I paid around £60 for mine a couple of years ago. Perfect last year in Kirchberg at minus 23.

Daughter was complaining last year of cold hands so bought her some Hestra mits, small Womens, from the shop there for €40. She then complained her hands were too hot - Kids who would have them!!

I have Reynauds syndrome, get blood loss to fingers and toes so get cold quickly. I use the glove liners as an extra layer, because you can slip your main gloves off if you need to go in your pocket/bag for something, and you're not exposing your skin to the cold as much then.

I have a pair of Barts gloves I got from Ellis Brigham, I think, and with the glove liners I had no problems in LDA last year when it was -30 with windchill.
Up there for thinking, down there for skiing...

Mittens for me. I've got a pair of North Face ones and a pair of Aldi ones and I'd recommend both, the latter being a 5th of the price and only marginally less breathable and just as warm.

When it's really cold I wear a pair of liner gloves.

I'm also looking for gloves and for a while had my eye on the White Rock ones listed above - pretty darn good for the price. Unless I find something better in the next couple of days I will get these so will let you know my verdict :D

I hear you Ian. I did get a bit of the cold hand experience in Murren a few weeks ago but assumed it was just part of the experience. I had stopped skiing for a bite to eat so half expected it. I thought constantly warm hands was too much to ask for but maybe not?? I'm a beginner anyways so I try to go for gear appropriate to my level. I hope the white rock gloves do the trick!

Incidentally, I did spot some electrically heated gloves in a Swiss ski shop which I thought were quite amusing ;)

Got back on my bike today and had a ride past Decathlon. Checked out the gloves

http://www.decathlon.co.uk/impact-gore-tex-black-mens-ski-gloves-id_8181477.html

that I was on about further up the this thread. I was impressed. So impressed I bought some :) .Nice and stylish (like most Salomon gear), Goretex lining, nice 'n' grippy rubberised palm (ooh-er missus  ) and ,best of all, reduced from £50 to £30! All thats missing is a nose-wipe on the index finger. I can live with that, I'll just keep using my sleeve  .

They 'look' nice and warm, but I suppose the proof of the pudding will be when I use them in anger. Roll on April! (More likely to need my swimming trunks -) ) The White Rock ones were tempting, but I liked the idea of being able to try these on first.

I bought these gloves the other day:

http://uk.thenorthface.com/tnf-uk-en/shop-by/activity/skiing/men-s-montana-gloves.html

I got them in Two Seasons and I had a discount for being a member of the Ski Club of GB. The full price is £50!

I don't know if they are any good, and they were very expensive. However, I thought it was about time I bought some better gloves as my old ones had got torn a bit from carrying skis, and I reckon I got a bit of 'frost nip' on the end of one of my fingers in Tignes (when Cat got frostbite in her big toes). I got a white blister which has now peeled off, leaving new skin underneath - something like a burn.

When we were in Tignes I bought liner gloves on the Thursday because my hands were so cold, and they did seem to help quite a bit. But the temperature up the top was -20C and it was supposed to be -30C with the wind chill

Strangely enough the rest of me was quite warm - oh, except for the end of my nose which I had to try and keep covered up on the chair-lifts!
