I got them in Two Seasons and I had a discount for being a member of the Ski Club of GB. The full price is £50!

I don't know if they are any good, and they were very expensive. However, I thought it was about time I bought some better gloves as my old ones had got torn a bit from carrying skis, and I reckon I got a bit of 'frost nip' on the end of one of my fingers in Tignes (when Cat got frostbite in her big toes). I got a white blister which has now peeled off, leaving new skin underneath - something like a burn.

When we were in Tignes I bought liner gloves on the Thursday because my hands were so cold, and they did seem to help quite a bit. But the temperature up the top was -20C and it was supposed to be -30C with the wind chill

Strangely enough the rest of me was quite warm - oh, except for the end of my nose which I had to try and keep covered up on the chair-lifts!

Mmmm, nice. Especially in black. Exactly the same thing happened to my old pair. They were about 10 years old, so I think i got my money's worth....

It was also in Tignes, earlier this season, that the old pair began to let me down. I think we had very similar conditions. I too managed to improvise with a pair of Lidl's soft-shell gloves used as liners. I had never experienced 'proper' cold hands before and it was a bit scary. Didn't get any blisters or bits falling off, but I reckon I would have been in trouble without the liners.

Thanks Gaz :)

I was feeling rather desperate, as I'm off ski-ing again soon, and I was worrying about frost-bite, or I wouldn't have bought such fancy ones. I hope the gloves will be good, and I am pleased with my 15% discount :)

Just a quickie that my White Rock Air gloves turned up today and have to say I'm not worried about cold hands now. They feel really warm, pretty rugged and the features should come in handy. The durable palm grip is like sandpaper so can't imagine any damage from carrying skis. I wouldn't bother removing the liner gloves that come with them as takes away half the warmth. Will test properly next week...

Glad you got sorted. I liked the look of those too. Have fun road-testing them next week. :-)

Whatever gloves I buy (have to admit always tend to go for a lower to mid price range), my biggest issue is not keeping warm (as the others have said, you can always wear the inner gloves/liners) but that the gloves tend to wear out where the thumbs are - because of carrying the skis in my hands. What are your experiences? Which mid-priced brand would last longer?

Edgeoftheworld (and the others): Sorry, only just saw your comment - will try out White Rock Air gloves myself. Thanks!

Yup, that palm grip also covers the thumb area ;)
