We were arrived through Turin on 13th Januart and left on 20th.

Arrival was fine. Only the bags took a while - but they all did arrive.

Leaving was painless. Yes there are lots of Thompson checkin desks - but that's no big deal.

It is a million times better than Chambrey in France.

I think with such a mixed experience at Turin (mine last year was pretty bad) with some quite poor and others clean, straightforward and simple it just points to the hit and miss that is an airport...

My favourite is Chambery - never had a problem but others hate the place.

Had good experiences at Geneva and pretty bad ones.

Probably the same at departure airports as well.

Sounds like we all have our favourites but there can be problems and delays pretty much anywhere.

After our third journey through Grenoble in a row, and with it getting steadily worse each time, we have introduced a new criteria to our ski holiday searches - no flights through Grenoble!!

Coming back the other week, we were queuing in gates 11 to 14, or something like that. If you've flown through there, you'll know that the gates are in an L shape - so 11 to 14 were close to the "bend" of the L. Result - chaos!! All the queues were intermingled, seemed like every tour operator had flights going back to Manchester so when you asked "Are you in the Manchester queue" it could have been Monarch (us), Thomas Cook or Thomson!!

Security was bedlam, we were still waiting to get through at the time our flight was supposed to be boarding, along with quite a few people on our flight. They hadn't given us the hurry up call, so we carried on and got through when we got through. Flight left 45 minutes late along with a number of others, and no doubt it was simply down to the congestion within the airport as the weather was fine and I had checked the incoming flight departure from Manchester as we were transferring to the airport to see if it was on time, which it essentially was.
Up there for thinking, down there for skiing...
