I can understand booking a late deal after a heavy dump, but I dont think I'd ever risk making an advanced booking and hoping for the best.
Pick a resort high up in the Alps if you're worried about no snow.

but surely with global warming alot of places are a risk. look at last season. As for andorra i just hope something changes soon.

given the choice where would you book in advance ? since the heavy snow in th alps it seems prices have really stepped up. i for one really cant decide whwere to go.

Just give it time it will come ... it always does, although nothing much next week

I only book in advance when theres a group so we dont run the risk of not getting together. For March 2012 we booked St Anton last July and got a big discount per person. You'l probably get cheaper if you sit it out as a couple, but it was the right place, hotel, deal, flights etc so we booked.

For next weeks trip I booked 2 weeks ago, as the snow was hammering down, and got it half price. ADH.

Moral of this is if you can wait and sit it out, and be flexible, it pays off. If theres a group, shop around and play tour ops and agents off against each other and get the best deal you can.

L2A will be decent Matt.

Personally I never ever look at Andorra as an option for a weeks skiing.

I really like Andorra. I think the Grandvalira is very underated, it is a large ski area and there is plenty of skiing to be had for most abilites. It offers 268 pistes and although people say they are overgraded there are still 47 blacks, 85 reds, 89 blues and 65 greens. Highest piste is 2640m so skiing is assured through out the season. The lowest is 1710.

It is cheaper than France in terms of the initial outlay and also when there because it is a tax haven.

Pas de la Casa is more suited to young party animals, Soldeu is lively but not roudy and El Tarter is for those who like it quiet.

I particularly like Soldeu as a base and I would definitely consider it when booking a ski holiday.
