Have a great time. Still on the hunt for our hols in March. Do you think that Inghams allocate a certain amount of flights etc to Iglu ski then, which is why Iglu had something but Inghams didn't?

Anyway, in answer to your question, I haven't even been to Flaine, sure it will be great anyway.

I am not sure what happened with Inghams, i really makes no sense. Iglu seem to think that their systems just link in with their TO's and if they can find availability the the TO's should have it too. They are just a travel agent.

As an update i went on to the Inghams website after i booked with Iglu to check the accommodation and found it was available via them again. And to make matters worse it was £50 cheaper (total) than i had just paid!!!!! Obviously i am not happy and i just called Iglu to make amends ... .i am waiting on a call back.

Snapzz. I booked St Christoph with Iglu, it is an Inghams holiday, and they undercut them significantly. I only booked with Iglu because of the big discount they offered. I went to Inghams and asked them to match or beat it, and they couldnt come within £100pp of the discounted price!
You should get them to match it at least.

I'm going to call them again later as their site does advertise a price match policy. It states you must contact them within 2hrs of booking, which i did, so i should be ok.

Forget the architecture - you won't notice it anyway. The skiing is excellent; Flaine is amongst the best and has a decent amount to suit all levels of ability.

I think you'll enjoy the long, flowing reds from the top of the Flaine bowl; generally they're wide and varied in pitch and aspect so fun and interesting runs to do. There are a couple of serious Blacks (and some milder ones) if you want a challenge.

The other areas of the Grand Massif are easily accessible and all worth a visit - fast lifts but can get busy at peak times. Easy to get out of Flaine first thing and grab a late morning coffee a valley or two away in Les Carroz, Samoens or Morillon. There's also a fantastic "get away from it all" run down to Sixt - about 10km IIRC and graded Blue - I think you still have to get a bus back from there to one of the other Grand Massif resorts though.

And take your camera to the top; the view of Mont Blanc is spectacular.

Top choice...

To get back OT - I shall be there in 5 sleeps!

39 sleeps - have now subtracted one as we will now be staying at a hotel near Gatwick the night before, so holiday starts one day sooner!

That is far too complicated and I must admit to a sense of sorrow for anyone who considers an airport hotel a holiday !!!!!

But .......
47 to go before Serre Chevalier which is a big help having returned last evening from L2A

Admittedly the Gatwick Best Western isn't exactly 5-star luxury, but at least they have a bar...
