Bon voyage and bon ski to all off today! Fast, cold pistes, loads of snow and a fair bit of sunshine await... nice!

Driving up the wiggly mountain road -6 degrees. Good times!!

I've only gone and done it...... Im booked.

What a nightmare though, there were NO holidays from east midlands for 4th feb at all. So i looked at Birmingham. Crystal, Inghams, Neilsen....all nothing for birmingham. Sure i could fly from gatwick but that would give me a big drive just to the airport. I don't like that.

Anyway after hours on the phone we managed to get Iglu to find flights into Geneva with, wait for it, Inghams! WTF...they told me they were fully booked.
So then came the choice of resorts. Les arcs or La plagne were my first choice but from geneva it is a 3+ hour transfer which we didn't want. And the guy on the phone says that the french drivers stop for a break every 2hrs du to their working arrangements which meant dragging it out even more.

So in the end i said 'How about the Grand Massiff area" and now we are booked for Flaine.

Now i know, before you all start, it is pig ugly but that doesn't bother me. I am a Skier not a landscape painter. And the short transfer (1hr) is right up my street. So i am happy.

So, have you been, tell me about Flaine.

@ Snapzzz; sounds good, I'm not a fan of ugly resorts but like you said, its the skiing you're there for and once you get out of the valley, the mountains look just as good.

Have a great time. Still on the hunt for our hols in March. Do you think that Inghams allocate a certain amount of flights etc to Iglu ski then, which is why Iglu had something but Inghams didn't?

Anyway, in answer to your question, I haven't even been to Flaine, sure it will be great anyway.
