Will wait to hear how your ski trip goes Snapzzz. I hope you have a great time even if you do have to sit at a table alone!

Hey Watterski, not sad at all and even if you went on your own, you would likely meet people - they tend to be everywhere in those places ;D In any case, if going alone isn't something you usually do then that's the best reason to do it! I'm still deciding whether to do my February trip on my own or not. A few weeks ago I was with another beginner and we were together on and off for a couple of days so we got some good quality alone time in as well as skiing together when we felt like it. It was good to have the option but wasn't necessary.

Hi niiixsy, my partner doesnt ski or board either, but i take my kids. if they couldnt go, i would just go on my own. i reckon its down to the individual, if they feel they could cope on their own whatever sex they are, good for them, go for it.

Definitely not; there's always someone to ski with.

Booking last minute can usually get you a good deal without a ridiculous "single supplement" and if you get into a catered chalet with a mixed group there's bound to be someone you get along with.

Otherwise, look for operators who do "ski hosting" which will give you the chance to get into a group of similar ability.

Quite a few independent chalet operators ski with their guests for some of the time also.

As mentioned above, you have at least one thing in common with all the skiers you meet... do it!

It doesn't have to be a hotel, with the problem of a single supplement: There should be loads of local agencies with small studios that overall might be cheaper, or no more expensive. If you don't mind or even prefer self-catering or eating out then could be an option.

Snapzzz glad you had a good time. I am going to go....just not sure where. Will wait until the week before to look for offers. Admin which companies do you recommend for ski hosting and how do the costs compare to ski school?
