Chapa Verde, Chile (2370m to 2871m)

With a name meaning 'Green Grass' in Spanish, and being formerly a private ski club for the managers of the local copper mine (one of the world's largest) Chapa Verde may not initially appeal to die hard skiers. They'd be wise to look further however, as the centre offers classic expert off-piste ski terrain as well as trails for all standards, and spectacular views across the Andes. The resort installed a new triple chair and went public in the early '90s. It now exciting development plans, separated off from the mine.

Chapa Verde

The Chilean ski resort of Chapa Verde has direct access to 14 individual pistes, served by 4 ski lifts.

The ski resort itself is above 1500m, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With pistes above 2500 metres, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

Ski Lift Capacity :- The 4 Ski Lifts of Chapa Verde are able to uplift 3,000 skiers / snowboarders per hour.
