With impressive high altitude snow depths pretty much across The Alps now, prospects for Spring Skiing (and, of course, an Easter break if you can leave this weekend) could hardly be better.

The long-range forecast is a mix of classic warm Spring days mixed in with a good number of cold and snowy top-ups.

If anyone's out in the mountains now, please feel free to post up some pictures but - for starters - here's what late-season skiing looked like in Les Arcs this week...

Off to Alpe d'Huez on 9th April for a week. Does your Mystic Meg ability extend that far, Admin ? ;)

Well, I reckon you should be ok to drive up without snow chains... 8)

It'll be Spring, but there's a lot of snow at altitude so the skiing will be good for the time of year. There are some useful snowfalls in the forecast for next week but whether they'll run much into April remains to be seen...

Blue skies, warm afternoons, and typical Spring conditions most likely. 8)

Solden this week has been great, snow falling now and more forecast. Looks like it will be a fantastic Easter.

Good luck with Alp D'Huez, Billip. I would guess you will have a great time. Our Feb trip was to ADH, OK, but the downside was bad viz. Same on my Jan Austria trip. and same on much of my March Colorado trip.

By way of catch up. I have just booked to go back to Austria on Wednesday....

Still hoping for a late visit to Cairngorm when I get back....
