I recognise that :D multi day stuff (my thing) the problem is toilets, to be fair it can be a bit basic but you get issues with them not drinking to avoid the toilet

When my son was 11 he went to an activities centre with the school. They did canoeing, rock climbing, hiking etc when I picked him up after a week he was still wearing the same clothes, same socks and undies and he stunk to high heavens. His explanation.......if you think I;m undressing in front of every-one you got to be joking.......but I did have a shower I just did'nt take my pants and socks off.

We were worried this year 'cos we usually fly from amile up the road, flight at 9am. This year was a 6.55am at Gatwick so had to leave ours at 2am. Worked a treat getting up day before 5am, did loads of work and stuff all day, went to bed at 5.30pm, set alarm and hey presto ready to get up at 1am. Would never worry about doing that flight again.

amanda n wrote:wouldnt mind trying xcountry, i saw them going up some very steep inclines at hopfgarten and when i got back to the hotel and asked the owner how it worked i thought he was joking how they make the skis, have you tried the snow shoes that looks good as well,

trencher you are a wealth of knowledge, seems to be good dumps of snow in n at mo so might be brave

Did a lot of snow shoeing this year, some just local to our cabin but some guided tours on the fells, really lovely. X country was excellent this year as loads of tracks close to cabin you could go out in the morning and be back at cabin for a warm up and a spot of lunch.

did you find it hard to learn the second one one, i dont know if you ski'd o boarded first. in yoiur opinion which one do you prefer

We learnt to board first on our first ever winter holiday, then when we went to Seefeld for the first time, we learnt to Xcountry, enjoyed it and then progressed to downhill. Love all three could'nt have a favourite really. Probably a better boarder then skier but working on it. X country is quite hard work, boarding is more fun, skiing more serious.
