Season-long rent: Austria and Italy
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 10 Replies
Thanks for all your helpful comments. I am in the process of narrowing it down and top of the list, at present, is a really smart apartment in la Thuile (handy for La Rosiere, Courmayeur, Cervinia, Pila and Chamonix, for example), another little beauty in Kirchberg and others dotted around Austria. It has proved much easier than anticipated (AirBnB, HomeAway, Amazing Austria and Long Term Lettings.com) have proved very, very useful.

And all a lot cheaper than 10,000 CHF for the season! And definitely don't want to go to France!

Daved, thanks, but some additional research has revealed some interesting possibilities in the Aosta Valley (Courmayeur, La Thuile and Aosta itself) as well as loads in Austria. Kirchberg looks favourite at the moment.

Nowhere fixed at the moment but probably somewhere with access to a number of resorts on one pass - like the Kitzbuhler All-Star pass etc - or the Milky Way/Aosta valley in Italy.

I would very much like to rent an apartment for a complete season in Austria or Italy. Anyone have idea on how to go about this and/or where to start? Thanks.
A very decent appraisal of La Thuile but it's very sad to see the tour ops have not sorted out the away day to Pila yet. Getting back after 8pm after numerous stops in Courmayeur was something of a trial!
Vorderglemm

Thanks; I've stayed in Hinterglemm before so I know all about the 'attractions' of the Goatstall etc! I was looking for some specific Vorderglemm info and I appreciate it is small and likely to be quiet (that's part of the attraction alongside a good hotel deal!).

Visited Sierra Nevada in September to see how easy it is to get to from our potential holiday home in La Herradura. It was pretty straightforward - and seeing these snow reports only adds to my interest to buy somewhere in southern Spain!
Just bought some new boots. Custom-fitted at solutions4feet in Bicester, Rossignol Allspeed 110. Looking forward to trying them out.
