Okay I'm looking to live in Austria, and of course I'll be needing work. I understand that order to work I need an expansive knowledge of german which I'm working on every day 8).( I bounce between yahoo.de and j2ski  ) I also need to contribute something to the country. Right now I'm a student, I have machining experience as well as working the lifts at work and being trained on their maintenance. I don't care where I find work, nor do I care what I do. As long as it's not an Au Pair position!
Thank you guys, any help is always greatly appreciated |

If your thinking South America why not go for Belize? Either the coast, or the rain forests, you can't go wrong

"Why isn't the lift working, is it sleeping?" A little boy asked that after our lift evac a month back.

I'm going to be going back to Colorado and I have a VERY hard time adjusting to the altitude, and it's quite uncomfortable for me. Outside of hammering down water by the gallon. What do you guy recommend?
While I'm on here I'd might as well go with the next question. I've been reading some stuff on avalanches and have a very basic knowledge. Now I'm not going to be doing ANYTHING off piste or anything like that, but in the spring, are they common? I was also thinking in investing in a Recco reflector, in lue of the in bounds avalanche at Jackson Hole. Not to mention I'd like to pick one up as I am optimistic about moving to Austria and I intend on exploring, as much as possible. |

Can I come over? |

A few days ago I was running my lift and got into an accident. We had VERY poor weather, it was in the 20C or 50's F and we had experienced a lot of ice and it melted and gave way to flooding. A long line had formed at my lift and a little boy squirmed in front of his dad. The father reached out to get the kid. The little boy slid under and chair and his father grabbed the back of the chair. My co worker was outside of the control room with his hands in his pockets looking adorable. The father slipped and fell on the slush behind his kid. The chair swung into my co workers shoulder and chest knocking him to the ground and into a pool of icy water. I yelled for him and I tried to reach for the chair and it swung back hitting me in the head. My coworker told me when fell I fell into my control panel and stopped the lift and hit the side and was of course unconscious. My co worker told me he ran over to the #5th lift station and got one of our patrollers (radio would have taken too long. After 10 minutes I was taken to their room/part of the lodge.
Now this was started by that little eager.....child. Outside of the resort being held responsible. Whom esle? |
