I got out of work last night, walked to the car park where my Hubby meets me. Opened the car door, said OMG what a manic day, I need a drink, the reply 'Never mind dear it will soon be over', except it was an old lady, not my OH, not my car .
My Hubby parked behind her, killing himself laughing. I need a holiday.

Rose are you sure you don't work in a pub

You will have no problems in Niederau, all roads will be heated, the locals will put on your snow cans for you and you can't get lost as the road is lined with peroni.

Most goggle makes will do an over the specs goggle which will generally be a bit bigger in size to fit over the glasses.these models will sometimes give you a better field of vision because of their larger size

My experiences with wearing glasses and goggles over the last 25 years of skiing are that most of the OTG goggles available make the wearer look like a complete prat.

It is not fun wearing what looks like a plastic cereal box on your face. Only in the past year or two have makers stopped treating specs users like an afterthought. To accompany my trusty Oakley L Frames, I now have some Sinner Beast 2 with a rather nice Tortoiseshell frame :D

Very trendy !!!

On the point of chains...what are the roads around Chamonix likely to be like end of January? I'd expect the roads around a town to be salted, or whetever, but having never been to the alps, I'm not 100% sure. Am I likely to need chains in that area?

Its motor-way all the way so should be no problem 8)

Hoop, like most forums, read the replies and make your own decisions, these guys are only trying to give you advice based on their experiences, it is completely up to you if you take the advice. Happy holidays 8)
