Deep powder!

Thanks Trencher, probably due to lack of speed as the hills were low not enough time to build up speed when you hit the deep powder at the bottom.

I know most people on here are skiers, but whats the technique for boarding in powder. We dont go off piste as such but go off walking somewhere with boards strapped to backs and we invariably find somewhere to have a bit of a laugh. Usually quite deep snow, down series of hills but it just does not work we usually just end up sinking. Once hubby sank so deep still attached had to sort of dig out around him so he could get out. I was no help just laughing so much I was useless.

I think we all agree every-ones holiday expectations are all very different. Some like nice long slopes, and lots of them, others shorter easy ones. Some like top class hotels others like catered chalets or SC apartments. Some want lively apres others piece and quiet. Every-ones different and thank goodness or we would all end up in the same place.
The only thing I think we would all hate..........no snow

watching my boys coming down trolles in tignes (from the gondola I hasten to add) was one of the highlights of my life.
I really wish they'd been there with us on our last trip to see me ski the steepest slope I've skied in my life, so far :D

I would have loved seeing my Son ski but he has never shown any interest. Even when we gave him our holiday to Seefeld a few weeks ago he had a few taster sessions, said he was good but did'nt really grab him. Shame it would be nice to have had a holiay away with him.

the tide has certainly turned. does that mean that no one's allowed to defend niederau? surely both sides of a story is better than one? I know that I prefer to concentrate on the positives rather than the negatives, it makes for a much happier life in my experience :D

Same here Caron, your holiday is what you make it.
Anyone booked?

Pablo Escobar wrote:Not so bad. I do a mean venison stroganoff... moving in to a flat in Glasgow in August so I guess I will have more time then to find out how good I actually am!

I have been pitching the idea to anyone who will listen but no one seems to fancy it

Its taken nearly two years to get and teach my Son to cook since he bought his flat, I think he is doing quite well although he does have expensive tastes.

Pablo Escobar wrote:I've not booked either, last minute kinda guy.

Although if anyone wants to take me a long I will happily play tour-guide/child minder/instructor 8)

Now that seems like a plan, whats your cooking like?
What exactly is a catered chalet?

Have always used Crystal for Austria but when we booked exactly the same holiday for Ruka Inghams came in at £500 cheaper, which is a hell of a saving. So have stuck with Inghams for next year again and their reps were fantastic, attended every Safari, sorted coachs etc, every-thing.
