Why are you worried about the snow cannons not firing?

There is a metre of snow forecast this week.

believe me i have been watching these bloody weather firecasts for weeka and everytime there has been snow forecast it has magically disapeared and been replaced with clear blue skies. so excuse my sceptecism . i really hope your right and the snow does arrive not only for personal reasons but for the resorts and economy. i know last year wasnt great with the dry first two months we had accross europe.

That really is my gut feeling but i am terrible at wanting to have something pinned down. my concern is if the snow in europe is inconsistent then the resorts with snow will be that much more expensive. Just hoping for a wide spread good season . also looking at the current economic climate i can see there being a slightly smaller number of people and especially families being able to afford this year. reckon i might just wait till feb and see where the snow is. weird thing is i hate skiing in warm weather. i like my winter vacation wintery.......

Hi all after some great help on other topics i thought i would throw this one out there. i heading away in the new year for a week with my partner shes of a good level but nervous at first and need a couple of days to get her confidence up on more gentle slopes. also shes a self employed personal trainer so the first 8 weeks of the year are her busiest. with that in mind we planned to head off on march 4th. can anyone advise the best location to go. im slightly concerned as its that bit later in the season as i always ski first week of feb. will there be any issues with snow fall and temp ( average of course no one is god and can see the future ) been looking at la thuile in italy and soldeu in the grand villara...... any help really appreciated. had a bad experience in borovets this feb and really dont want to repeat it .

thanks in advance

This is a good Chamonix valley specific forecast http://chamonix-meteo.com/index.php

Thanks i appreciate theres not much need but they do have a considerable amount of cannons on the grand montets and i was very surprised to hear there not using them yet and if / when they will be using them.

Forecast for the coming days looks like it could change everything.

Anyone know how long it will tke the now staff to get the areas ready should the snow come ?? hours days weeks ??????

thanks
