That must have been humbling, I am never sure how to react in situations like that. I never want to appear over-awed in case it seems patronising, even if I am over-awed. I guess that's just my ignorance showing. It just goes to show what we can all do if we put our minds to something. I sat and watched a guy with one leg skiing in Zermatt in May, he had a camera crew with him and was faster than i dream of being. These guys are obviously dedicated and probably dismiss thier ability to that fact. It's a lesson we can all learn from, if you want something bad enough......,

BTW, what kind of planes were they flying?

Not embarrasing at all, they were so open about everything, never felt sorry for themselves. My Hubby tells me they were flying 3 fly synthesis texan 550's, means nothing to me, but were prop planes.

I have not posted for a long while but feel I have to, thanks to a bunch of great guys I met yesterday.
I went to Europes biggest air show at Fairford yesterday. I watched an air display by Italian pilots, not jets like Red Arrows, but very good. I found out by the commentary that all these guys were severely disabled and paraplegic.
Afterwards met these guys at their info tent and got chatting, slight language barrier but managed to understand a lot.
They had all had some sort of accident resulting in their disabilities.
They did their air displays during the Summer months, mainly for charity in special adapted planes. But in the Winter months 3 of them were ski instructors. Two coached disabled skiers and one coached able skiers.
One of the guys was very involved in design and manufacture of all types of disabled sports equipment. He has designs on the planes, ski's, mono ski's, bikes, climbing equipment.
I felt very humbled to meet these guys
