go indoors for a couple of sessions before you go back, just to get your "ski legs" in order to get the best out of a short ski break?

Not always the football - did my ACL skiing - but did my first post-op trip back to Champery last year and off again in 2 weeks time - I am sure you will be fine - have fun |

I think if you aren't "expert" and you want to get your ski legs back before going on holiday the indoor slopes are excellent.
and £29 for as much as you like between 0900 and 1700 is good value. I agree it can be a bit boring just up and down, up and down - but if you have new equipment to get a bit used to, or things to practice it is well worth it. |

but you don't have to ski all day for it to be a good deal, one hour is £24, 2 hours is £36, so if you want to ski anything more than an hour it is cheaper than any other way - and you could always ski an hour or so, have a coffee, ski some more, have lunch, ski some more and get a good deal - but yes, anything more than about 2 hours can be a bit boring - but it makes Hemel a better deal than Milton Keynes, plus the snow at MK has been crap lately - Hemel is generally better

What are the chances of snow being good still mid-April? my daughter lives/works in Champery in Switzerland and will finish the season mid-April and we want to go to Whistler for 10 days when she finishes?
what are peoples opinions on what snow will be like? |

Ally - no not very brave! Maybe a little stupid instead?!
Original damage done in November 2007 in Milton Keynes indoor, then Christmas 2007 did the full damage in Switzerland. Had reconstruction in August 2008 and this is my first year back on the slopes - although I have visited both MK indoor slope and the new one at Hemel Hempsted several times to regain confidence since last summer. It was a bit scary the first time back on the same mountain in Champery I have to say, but after a week I got quite a lot of confidence back - and thoroughly enjoyed it - we are hoping to head back out there on 20th of this month for another week :) |
