Niederau area

Niederau is a nice friendly place to stay and is fantastic for begineers/improvers/those looking to gain more confidence. For a relatively experienced boarder I think you may soon get bored with the slopes, but if you're staying there you may as well do the reds and blacks in Niederau (and over in Auffach which is on the same lift pass) before looking to bus elsewhere.

You could buy a lift pass for say 3 days to see all the local area before venturing further affield.

All the time I was in Niederau I only saw buses going to Auffach and Oberau, so not sure how easily you'd get to Soll really.

Skiing, or to Niederau in particular?

I meant Niederau in particular. I normally prefer to try somewhere differnt everytime rather than potentially get stuck in a rut, but because I didn't ski as much as I'd have hoped I didn't see it all so wouldn't mind going back and seeing the rest.

The village is nice, the people friendly and the slopes very good for beginners/intermediates

Niederau lessons etc

Just got back from Niederau yesterday and the whole family were thoroughly impressed with the tuition from the Red ski school. We had pre-booked three days of lessons but my wife and daughter were enjoying the tuition so much we extended it to the full 6 days for them.

The instructors at the red ski school are some of the best I've ever seen, and were so patient with my wife and daughter that I'm pleased to say their confidence has improved way beyond my expectations :D :D :D :D
Draglifts...what a bummer

Andalo in Italy doesn't have any draglifts either

I've been with my kids school a couple of times, they always use Skibound. They supply a dedicated rep to the group (the first one was crap though, but it made it quite funny!) and they organise ski lessons for the school party only, so that the kids are only in groups with people they know.

I believe that schools booking again get discounted rates in subsequent years.
Ski Sunday - where is it?

Yes it's back this Sunday with the new spin off/sister show available on the red button.

The special on last weekend was the regular walking tour of the Alps slot from the last series cobbled together to form one programme.
