HI there,
I went to flaine a few years ago and i had one of the best weeks skiing ever! i was literally skiing in powder up to my chest for most of the week - unforgettable! i found the grande massif area fantastic for intermediates, loads of wide reds to tackle, you can easily ski to the other villages, cant remember the names of them but morillon rings a bell? There is a cable car which takes you right to the top of the moutnain at flaine - so much easier than queueing for several chairlifts in the morning. you should have no problem skiing the whole area, which is huge. the only annoying thing i can remember is that it was very windy at the top when you came off the cable car, but that had more to do with the current weather conditions. i am certain you'll have a great time we stayed in the hotel le totem which was very nice, perfect location aswell, a minutes walk to the cable car but you should find that most of the hotels are virtually ski in ski out. |

You cant beat a bit of metallica when taking on some hairy looking runs or some dance beats for keeping your rythm!

Heres a contoversial topic,
I have been skiing with an ipod for the last 4 years or so, not only does it help me get 'into the zone' when skiing the more challenging runs but its fantastic when cruising the mountain. Whats everyones opinion of skiing to music? do you enjoy it youreself or do you consider it to be ignorant and an unnecessary risk to other skiiers as you might not be fully concentrating on the surroundings? I am not saying that its the right way to enjoy skiing and i agree you shouldnt use of them on crowded pistes but for me i do find it makes me an even better skier opinions please! |

I would recommend Mont Tremblant, its on the east coast of canada in the laurientians. Its a fantastic resort, all brand new and puropse built. Its quite a low altitude resort but it has a very good snow record.
it has a very up market feel, the restaraunts are first class and so are the people. I found the ski area really good, i am an experienced skiier and had a great time glade sking over the backbowls. I would definately recommend you checking it out, having been to Banff myslef i can appreciate how annoying it is to get an hour bus ride every morning to lake louise/ sunshine and back again! hope this helps! |

i would recommend checking out Flaine in france, read up about it on the internet and form your own opinion but i went there about 5 years ago and i really enjoyed it. the resort itslef is quite small but there are a few nice bars with a relaxed atmosphere.
i went there with some skiiers who you could class as beginners and they had a wail of a time! i would also recommend cervinia in italy |

Hi mate,
i went to pas de la casa 2 years ago with 2 of my mates. we had a great time, the skiing especially suits beginners and if its buzzing nightlife your looking for you have certianly chose the right place! There are loads of clubs and bars which are reasonably priced and as far as i can remember there were theme nights on for most of the week which are always good for a laugh! the only negative point i can think of is that the male to female ratio was extremely high, which is fine if your looking for that sort of thing but not so good if your looking for some female company! All in all, go there with the mindset of partying all night and skiing all day and not worrying too much if you find the girl of your dreams and you will have a fantastic holiday. The skiing area has improved greatly over the last few years and i would definately recommend making the most out of the day aswell as the night, or you might regret it when you get home! Forny |
