This thread had me pondering my sock habits all day, so I headed into town to double my sock quota to 2. Not only have I not managed, I ended up buying a soft shell jacket. Doh!

Watcha Jon, hoping for the same early November. Me and a couple of mates heading for either Zermatt by train or Tux by car. I'm so happy it's winter.

And that last supper carry on would rival most après ski huts in Austria!! They all look hammered.

Winterthur is a nice compact town with great links to both Zurich and it's airport. I'm not sure about resorts close by, I normally head further south when going to Switzerland. Come back to you after work.

Colin, where exactly are you moving to, Baden describes a huge amount of Southern Germany and some Northern Switzerland. I live in SW Germany and can offer all kinds of advice and cheap hints.

My bad on the resort, and come to mention it the grading up there was a wee bit questionable.

cheaper and easier than coming to England for a beer......on a Thursday!!!

I have decided that because I am sooooo jealous, that I will just have to make do with going to Zermatt again on Friday.
