Its not how high the resort is ...its the fact that they have a glacier and it snows there(on the Monte Rosa) in the middle of summer
Do you have access to a gym with a Bosu (a round half ball with a plastic plate)..if so try standing on the plate with feet about 50cm apart and parallel with a 20kg weight across your shoulders and then bounce from one foot to the other with knees slightly bent
have a look at Cervinia..they advertise preski from October...and are high...very very high

the company of a great group of people ..most of whom are sensible :D
Its Switzerland...of course you will be OK with Euros...I was a couple of years ago...they quote in both currencies...but you will need a lot its not cheap
