That is astonishing. My furthest fell run was 54 miles, and I used to train by running up Cairngorm. But Cervinia to the top of the Matterhorn, in under two hours? Astounding.
Most of my buddies that have climbed the Matterhorn have meandered up to the Hornli hut during the afternoon, stayed overnight, then set off at 4.00am/5.00am.I considered all these guys to be real hard guys. And so they were. This is an amazing feat. |

Top warning post, Billip. This is exactly the feeling that I had. |

Upmarket gear, LOTA. Non-waterproof corderoys for me! |

Helmets are designed in different ways, and meet different British Standards and European Standards. Do not mix them.
When cycling, I always wear a cycle helmet. I also have skied for over 40 years with no greater protection than a woolly hat, and regularly ski at 100km/hour. However, last season, I wore a helmet (for only the fourth day of wearing in two years of ownership), on a white out day. Unquestionably, that decision saved my life. I now have a different view on ski helmets. |

Well, perhaps,(elsewhere), I gave the organisers a little more credit than they were due. However, given where we are, there is a better than evens chance that I will visit the Manchester show. I had a plan to visit the London last year, but that was screwed up by a third party, I will never go to the Scottish Show again ~ they gave my Guide Dog trainee a difficult time. Given that, I did manage to meet up with a friend of Pavel!

Is the right answer! It pees me off that when I want to enter races under an age category, I find that my Niederau contemporaries are ex-Austrian national skiers. However, it gladdens me that none of them could beat my 10 year old Niederau speed record! (It was beaten by two 17 year old Austrian Sh*ts) |

I just checked that. Newcastle to Geneva, out 15 March, return 22 March, £62 + £61.
As far as reliability goes I have used EJ 6/8 flights a year, on the Edinburgh ~ Munich route for over 10 years. Rarely been late, 90% are early. It is, by a long way, the best airline I have ever used ~ and I have used scores of airlines for business and domestic use. |

All true Swingbeep. I guess it is a fact of life that as soon as you start walking down the street in your new boots, the toe plate is already being degraded.
