Well looks like he is doing great. Next stage would be to make more aggressive turns whilst keeping fall line speed i.e. really put skis on their edges.

My suggestion would be keep up lessons. Very difficult to eradicate technique problems once embedded.
Here in France high temps have definitely done some serious damage to snow back. Plenty of evidence of full depth releases and not just limited to South facing slopes.

Would keep any offpiste to North/East only and above 2000m if want to avoid avalanche risk. Big rain yesterday upto around 1700m which cannot of helped stability.

Skiied this morning, 2hrs uphill. Cable car down for 10:15. Hip flexors were in serious pain in end. Still cannot complain, week of this has to help recovery.

Few exercises that are critical:
1 get leg straight, put something under heel and let gravity gently straighten for you.
2 if have access to bike use it. Initially you won't be able to do a full rotation but need to start working towards this.

Before operation I was squatting with weights and biking 40min. Speak with physio but will be long way back if let leg waste and or stiffen.

Don't want to give you bad news but when I ruptured knee ligament.
6 weeks until first surgery.
6 weeks recovery period prior to 2nd surgery.
Currently 8 1/2 months post surgery. My recovery period has not been ideal as no access to physio but have been pretty motivated.

I only skied Volkl skis for one day and have to admit were too much for me. Too light and not powerful enough to enjoy them.

Something like a narrow Salomon Enduro might be a nice option for you. For sure will be easy to initiate and great onpiste and even in medium deep powder.
