18th July Alpe D'Huez
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 11 Replies
The 2013 Tour De France route has been announced.
My eye was immediately drawn to the Gap to Alpe D'Huez stage on 18th July.
They nearly popped out when I read that they have to climb the mountain twice! That's just cruel!
I love watching Alpine stages, especially places I know from visiting them in the wintertime.
Any other fans out there?
With them coming up the climb twice this could be the year to go out there to watch. It would be something ticked off my bucket list.
The deal was through the travel operator, it was on any holiday if you booked early.

There were better deals available booking early, we're paying 145 euros for 3V passes.

It's much easier these days to access.

I've skied that week loads of times, either Val D'Isere or Tignes. Never had a problem with to little snow.

Best snow of the lot, no crowds

(but equally I'd echo just about every other post - especially the one about Ours run being a no go....)

Doing all 4 valleys in one day is a must. It'll be easier this season with the Plattieres lift improvements cutting gaining you around 20 mins.
When it arrives, it arrives!
