Had a look at this for Android and it is quite interesting.
I had a quick look but not exhaustive to see if you can use wifi only to upload etc - thereby avoiding data sue. One thing I don't want is heavy data use when abroad (roaming turned off).

Bits of it are certainly working in france - this was grabbed from street view/google maps above meribel up near the Saulire and shows how they are doing it with the skidoo shadow!

The Tignes interactive map isn't working properly yet - not showing lifts/pistes open just a total number.

Last year an obsessive like me could watch the area open up in the morning as more and more lifts opened and pistes were opened - fun!
