:D hi ,yes snow is quite a major thing in England if we get more than about 1/2 inch the country grinds to a halt,not sure how the government and public would cope with amajor snowfall (alpine standards) mind you our road and rail networks are useless anyway so would not really affect those,mind you us skiers would be ok. :D

:Dhi,although slightly more than an 2 hours from geneva Val D'isere will be opening on 1 December this year,also i believe some Austrian resorts have opened early due to the impressive start to the season.

:D its amazing how a few miles can make the difference,had about an inch here but leaving off now and starting to get a bit slushy,thought i would have to finally give in to winter and put my shorts away but if it melts by morning the world will have to put up with my nobbly knees for another day or two,:D

:D hi freezywater ,it is snowing lovely here in Wellingborough trouble is the skiing is crap!,does sleet count as snow...i think so..as long as its alwhite with you its alwhite with me :D

:D hi all i agree jamesA the snow and mountain terrain speak volumes to the feet....they must, as a blind skier (having a fully sighted skier behind giving directional instructions) would have not have the the ability to ski so fluidly downa mountain with nothing more than the feel of the snow beneath them. :D

:D hi,cheers thought it might be worth a punt and see if there was anymore info out there,never mind will carry on using grenoble and geneva,mind you may give the Eurostar a go this year sometime as i am only a 10 miute walk away from the station.

hi ,have been with a company called Ski Miquel to st.anton before,and i think they are flexible about dates(but not 100%)the accommadation is fully catered and the chefs are all fully qualified,from memory i think i paid around £450 for a week al included but this was a few years ago now.
