Hi Lynn D,

Thanks for that, a really conclusive write up and very informative too!

Due to some of our group dragging their heals, we have miised out on the original deal for Sauze and have instead booked to go to Alpe D'Huez.

I really want to try Italy in the future though!

Thanks.
What size skis do you use?

I am 6ft 1 and only use 165cm, just feel a lot more comfortable using a slightly shorter ski.

I realise that i should probably be using 170cm plus, but hey ho!

Anyone else use skis that (if you are going by the rules) are too short/too long?

:D

I'm going to Alpe D'Huez on 12th Jan!! :D
I think the whole toilet debate is just a case of, "don't eat yellow snow." When you've got to go, you've got to go!

Behind a tree obviously!!

Oh and it looks as though I could well be coming out to Tignes on 12th Jan, so may see you all there!! :D

Evening folks!

Just wondering if any of you skiing geniuses can shed any light on this resort?

Many thanks! :-)

Hi James,

Just a couple of questions if I may?

I am looking at booking Sauze for 13th Jan, the deal is staying at Relais de Alpes. Do you have any feedback on this place? How close to the lifts is it? Some people say the walk to the lifts in horrendous, whilst others say it's not too bad. Any information would be greatly appreciated!! :-)

Are the snow conditions likely to be ok at this time, with the resort being lower(ish) than some of the French resorts?

Many thanks in advance.

Mike,

I went to Chamonix about 7 years ago with the lads. We stayed in the Flegere area and were probably 5 mins walk from the gondular and 10 mins walk from the town.

The skiing is fantastic, although it is split across 5 separate villages. Le Tour I think was probably the easiest of the resorts. But there is some great skiing to be had at Grand Montets and The Valley Blanche is worth a look too.

The nightlife is also brilliant, 4am was the usual going home time for us! Five hours sleep is plently!! :D
There is an abundance of bars/nightclubs to have a go at and you won't be disappointed!

Hope this helps :D
