I have skied there, but same as you, from a base from elsewhere. (Breckenridge). I chose Breck because I calculated this would give the maximum amount of skiing in a day. As I'm sure you know, the lift pass covers several resorts.
Hence we had a number of days at Vail, plus Beaver Creek, Arapahoe Basin, and Keystone. I agree that Vail was great, although one of the A-Basin runs remains a lifelong favourite. I am the opposite way round ~ I have a permanent offer of free accommodation in Vail and Aspen! Good luck with the hunt! |

Yes the SR ticks all the boxes, although, I still do not yet class myself as mature.... This is about skiing mountains rather than runs. As a painter, it provided endless rock/snow formations, wonderful scenery. Go both ways, they are totally different. |

I agree that it was compulsive. Just amazing. Do not agree that you could think about "expectations". There are so many things that can go right and wrong, and we are hoping that they all go right? I don't think so.
The Brits acquitted themselves well. Minor faults were severely punished. Even the most knowledgeable folk are offering criticism of the judging. I certainly would not liked to have judged that competition. A really good competition, noted by the camaraderie among the competitors. |

46. Just conceivable that this refers to age.....

As a J2 skiing community, we really have to doff our caps/woolie hats/helmets to Chemmy. There are many higher rated competitors who are without recent and serious injury. High position race results will difficult to achieve, without injury.
We wish her the best that she can manage. One thing about Chemmy is that she will not hold back. |

And this week, on the same lift, even the top ropes are covered, so it is much deeper than last season.

I have been to Obergurgl both of the last two seasons. Last year, I took a sizable head hit in a white out ~ fortunately I had chosen, because of the white out,to wear a helmet. At many resorts of the height, skiing in a white out is a questionable decision, and I should have known better.
Ober and Hochgurgl offer good skiing, many good runs, and I really enjoyed the night skiing. |

What, anywhere in France? Without regard to the specification? Assuming some beginners, Filzmoos is a good suggestion. |
