Far Queue wrote:Hi VSB, it was not a left/right difference I had in mind. I am sure I saw a documentary a few years ago about ski making, and after they had turned out a batch of skis, they then set about matching skis into pairs.

This was to do with the way they flexed and twisted, and where on the ski they flexed and twisted. They were trying to avoid getting two skis, where one would flex x° halfway down the ski and the other would flex y° further forward in the ski.

These were mass produced skis as well, not hand made items where you might expect to find some differences.

But shouldn't it be the same for left and right ski? I think this is the reason for matching, so the skis in the end are identical. Just sorting them into pairs will make those odd sub-standards ones out easier.

98mm underfoot is an awesome width, really versatile.

Like the one who was charged with manslaughter, after one of the group she was leading was killed at Verbier in 2007.

The B3 was wider and stiffer than the B2. The Theory is perhaps a closer in concept to the B2.

Ski prices for the coming season are normally fixed in April. If the Euro continues to fall against the pound at its current rate, they will be probably be considerably cheaper from one of the Euro zone retailers.

Wasn't she found not guilty in the end?

This is strange, because usually when they offer race coaching they make a disclaimer that a solid technique is required before moving into racing.
Merino shouldn't itch.
I forgot to add that you should avoid cotton in your base layers - it has zero insulating value and you get cold really quickly once it gets wet from sweat. So leave your cotton T-shirts for apres-ski or at home. The best material for base layers is merino wool, which unfortunately is the most expensive, but for example Iceberg tops can be worn not just for skiing, but for normal casual wear too. Basically your ski clothes have to keep you warm and dry and not restrict your movements.

Nice. You will have to report how they ski.
Skiing in Interlaken?

Why not Wengen/Murren or Grindelwald? Interlaken is pretty awful, I have to agree with the post above. We had incident with a bunch of local younth, no older than 18-20 y.o., who were pretty aggressive and it took us considerable effort to avoid a real confrontation. Fairly unexpected experience for Switzerland.
