How long and fat is this yard stick you speak of?
When I am not skiing I wear trainers/skate shoes, jeans, tshirt and a hoody.. only a jacket if it gets seriously cold. I look daft in hats and don't bother with gloves. It is too late if it isn't any good eh!? Yeh they will be fine.. don't wear a scarf when you are skiing.. buy something like a Buff, they are only a tenner.

A helmet? Personal preference. Looks like you have most things covered to me but some folks with more 'experience' than me might be able to help you out. Don't be nervous and just enjoy it, dude!

The more money you want to make, the more qualified you have to be.. my tip would be to keep working and work your way through the ranks on your holidays then go for it when you are a bit more qualified and can earn more money from the off.

Just my thoughts, I am sure someone else will be different.

IF you make the right compromise it can be good.. Calgary can give you 7 days skiing a week for example.
