How tight should Ski Boot Buckles be?
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 10 Replies
I had race boots fitted in Banff last year but race or novice they should fit like a glove-really, should be firm hold over the entirety of your foot with no pressure points and no movement of the foot, this is what the bootfitter aims to achieve but it is very difficult to do so as close to this as you can get would be excellent! In regards to buckle tightness it would be to secure the foot there should be no movement once again. and also minimal "heel lift" which can lead to problems with technique.

i'd suggest going to Banff haha the prices may suprise you and snow in March is fantastic, hey i'll even give you a free lesson and show you ruond the mountain. Otherwise Salzburg, try Badhofgastein/Bad Gastein, or even Saalback if you can put up with the odd snowboarder!

You would be better off in Bormio or Livigno itself as opposed to a smaller bit of town. They are very good for nightlife on the cheap whereas santa caterina is 25/30 minutes away by bus and more suitable for a "quiet night in"
tight budget, St Moritz will be out the question then.... As i geuss will Davos/Klosters be! Try Soll/Kitzbuhel! Or even Obergurgl which is nearly garunteed snow. Check out the skiclub.co.uk resort reviews. If you are not amemmber id highly reccommend it!!!

I think we had a particularly bad year tbh although it was the holiday weekend in Feb. TBH our hotel (run by first choice) was so bad it just ruined everything. Should there be plenty snow it will be awesome. sportgastein gets very very cold so wrap up!!

I would avoid it. Snow is very temperamental especially in Bad Hof Gastein. If you are not near the slopes then its a long walk. Was there 3 years ago and did not enjoy it very much! Terrain not very challenging. But snow is just your luck i suppose!
take your pessimism else where  i am more htan happy this means we are going to have 40 feet of snow this year haha
Check out the webcams at sunshine villiage in Banff, already snow lying on the ground, woohoo! skibig3.com
