This is for binding systems that have no brakes fitted. In this instance the term safety includes having your skis smack you around the head when you fall -)

If you are skiing in powder the brakes are ...how shall I say...ineffectual!...and when I learned ..and took lots of falls that never really happened to me, but the ones illustrated stretch to 6' so that event is unlikely

Brugges is great for a couple of days and if you go to Stuttgart (via Luxembourg) you completely miss the French motorway tolls and get cheap fuel there..Why not try St Anton and the Livigno area ...its more in that direction

And I should think the transfers will be cheap enough, if they're just from the railway station - bus or taxi.

The Eurostar arrives at Aime about 6 am and the first bus goes at 7.30.am the tcket office opens just before this..return tickets are cheaper but you have to give a return departure time..we bought in the resort later...if you have to check out early there is an excellent left luggage in Plagne centre opposite the bus office and you can ski till the afternoon..you have to catch a train from Aime to Bourg and hang about till it {snowtrain)departs,,there's an excellent pizza place across the staion car park
