The OP said they wanted somewhere that's not family orientated, most of the bars and nightclubs in Val d'Isere are like somewhere you leave the kids (up to and beyond 30) so you can have a nice meal out in peace, whilst they make themselves sick with booze! Hence meaning you can ski in peace the following morning also.

It's like an adolesent creche!!

Do you mean 'luminous' or is Aluminous a brand that I havn't heard of?
I wouldn't want to say something I shouldn't so I'll keep my opinions of Crystal to myself )

Some of the blame for the poor start to last season, despite excellent snow conditions goes to what I call the "Robert Peston" effect. The media scared the life out of people at the end of last year, they were so scared of the impending financial meltdown that lots of people just stopped spending money thus the prophesy became self fulfilling. I base this on talking to our customers who visited us in the usual numbers but purchased less. January was a huge improvement, xmas and new year past and the "meltdown" wasn't nearly as bad as many thought it would be.

I haven't used a tour operator for a ski holiday in years but I still check their prices - if I can get the holiday I want more cheaply from a TO then I'll book it but it hasn't happened yet. I find that long haul on the other hand is usually cheaper with a TO, to the far east anyway.

I wouldn't fly with Ryan Air if the tickets were free and they were paying the taxes.

I think EasyJets model works so well because they don't treat their customers with the same sort of open contempt that RyanAir do.

As with most things in life the cheapest option is rarely the best value.

Excellent pics, looks like a great trip.
I have 2 friends living in both Dubai and Oman and I've been invited to visit - I sort of thought Dubai wasn't on my list of places I wanted to see but I might have to reconsider :)

I would feel a bit more than 'some discomfort'

And as for the speed limits, how exactly is the skier supposed to know how fast he or she is travelling? You could not, for example, legally enforce speed limits for cars if they had no speedometer or other way of notifying the driver of the speed. I hope this is one of those 'only in the USA' type things )

Some good stuff there, but those have to be the worst opening titles I've ever seen on a ski movie

No, never paddled the Liffey. Upper Lough Erne is my playground. :D

Three Valleys Lift Pass - Up and Down

A customer told me the following story.

He had been to the same resort in France twice this winter. On the second visit he noticed that a particular mountain restaurant had put its prices up since his first visit. He asked why. The reply was "Oh! we had to, less and less people were coming in for lunch"
