Me too!! I'm there for a week from the 23rd, looking better and better on the web cams! :D |

They are indeed, but they will try to send you via an auto route and your French hire car will not have the stickers for swiss motorways. Leaving the airport isn't much of a problem but finding your way back is a different ball game, or maybe I'm just navigationally challenged  Ally, if you rent on the Swiss side navigation is very straight forward. |

Google map of the border:

You could try to imagine that you have a hoop (hula hoop) around your waist. Imagine that you are holding the hoop at a 10 to 2 position. This where your hands should remain - in relation to your upper body. The pole plant is made mostly by moving your wrist, not your arm. Dont try to stab the snow, a gentle touch is all that is needed in most situations.

Hi Ally, No, just booked a flight and hotel. I'm hoping, and its just a hope, that there will be enough snow cover to ski down to Val Claret from the Motte. I'll be happy with that. I'm staying in the Alpaka as usual. They are very flexible with dates, you can stay any day to any day if they have space which means I can book mid week flights and save loads! The only down side with going so early is that the buses from Geneva are very limited so a hire car is necessary. |

Yes, it's starting to look pretty good! I'm going out for the last week in November, couldn't help myself! If I don't go then it will be March before I manage to get on the snow. The new HiDef web cams look pretty good but they need to clear the snow off the lenses!! |
