OK, so, i'm getting excited...cant help it, less than 100 days to the first trip of the new season (Europe) and so regular visits to snow forecast and webcams!! BUT...

Says keeps snowing in Serre Che, but is it laying or melting away? is the base beginning to form? AND

When will they update the webcams? I'm fed up of looking at the August views.....

Anybody help me here?

BTW 2nd trip is in Feb to Killington U S of A - same there too!!

Take your own in my opinion.

You can 'pimp' it to your tastes, you know its history, you know how it should react as you ride.

As stated earlier, you can also 'carpet' ride with it - not so strange, you can adjust and try diff positions / settings and if you really excited you can even stroke it.....

I've had Flows for past couple of seasons and rate them for the ease of use in comparison to 'usual' straps. Having said that there are some things to consider;

you cant put them on when sitting on your arse

if you stand on the covers in accident, then they will move inwards and you'l have to adjust

they do have some flex to them which some think affect the reaction of riders

they are not the easiest to adjust that little bit extra you want.

I have just sold mine on and got some k2's which combine the ease of use of the flows with the additional benefits of the 'normal' straps. I'll tell you how i get on soon!

I'm back to Serre Che in Jan and hoping the snow falls like last season (the day after we arrived!). I snowboarded in 2Alps the year before and enjoyed the resort - its strange that near complete beginners can ski from the very top on easy runs. Also if conditions aren't great, then more likely to get better conditions in 2Alpes.

Friend of mine took helicopter to Alp D and enjoyed his day there. Dont go ski where you already know on the one day - try something different to Sauze / Sestriere in my opinion.

Dont forget to get your wrist guards, impact shorts! and wear a helmet. May seem over the top but...... you wont regret!. Your first day or so will be frustrating, but keep with it, its worth it.

Yellow and Orange??? i've seen worse!

deffo the wrist guards, knee pads and impact shorts. I swear by my impact shorts and knee pads - not just for when you fall over, but for when your just sitting there wiating for your mates - they keep the cold away from you that bit longer. If your in a group you may want to consider walkie talkies too. Have a great time!

Bit like me, its the pistes that matter, everything else comes second! I'm off to Austria (SOLL) next Saturday and having seen weather forecasts (gonna be warm!), i'm so wishing was going to Serre Che again.... fingers crossed major weather shift and dump of snow on the Monday!!

Great resort for nightlife and pistes arent bad, plenty of Reds and you can go over the otherside into Sestriere for something different. Not many simple runs, so if your second time on skiis you'l have great time!! Not sure i would recommend as a beginners resort (i took 6 learners there in 01 and the lack of blues didnt sit well with some of them (mebbies it was their bottle that went...). I love the resort and would go again however, hopefully you have good snow and can ski down into the resort and down from Sportina (main hub of the mountain). People very friendly too - watch out for fancy dress on the slopes - i saw bearded nuns and a 'city gent' glide past the bar one day...
